Hindustan Times is launching India’s first-of-its-kind coding initiative for school children, HT Codeathon on 25 Oct from 9 PM Onwards.

HT Codeathon is an ideal platform for the students to learn coding and showcase the talent of our young budding coders thereby putting them on an accelerated path to success.

Why Coding?

Coding is of supreme importance in the current context and it is a skill set that is required for these students to succeed in the 21st Century. Coding is a skill set that is essential to be successful not just in school or career but beyond as a lot of opportunities are available for coders in the current scenario.

Most of the skillsets that are required for the current jobs would be obsolete in a few years and coding is still a growing skillset with emerging opportunities. Learning coding at this early age will allow students to prepare for jobs that don't even exist in the current market scenario
