As the last winter breeze blows away and the spring sun dawns upon us, the air all around is filled with the smell of freshly bloomed roses. Every year with the onset of spring, one event adds another feather to the cap of City Beautiful. Yes. You guessed it right. 

We are talking about none other than the 3-day display of roses arranged by the Chandigarh Administration: The Rose Festival 2018.

Special Attractions at Rose Festival 2018 

Like every year, this year too, from 23rd to 25th February, Zakir Hussain Rose Garden will be geared up for the largest presentation of roses of over 800 varieties along with a host of different events. If you are a true Chandigarhian, it's one event that you should not miss. 

Wondering how would you get to know the distinction between roses? Don't fret! The Rose Festival segregates the variety of roses based on different sections. So, there is a separate section of roses based on countries they came from, roses named after famous personalities, roses named after fruits, Indian roses, unique and hybrid roses and many more varieties of this beautiful flower. 

Events + Competitions + Endless Entertainment= The Rose Fest 2018 

Any Fest which is a celebration can't be complete without entertainment. The Rose Festival 2018 is no different. Gear up to compete with talented lot of the region in a number of amazing and fun competitions like photography, rose prince & princess, Mr & Mrs Rose, Hum Tum competition for newly wedded couples, rangoli competition, craft, antakshari, folk dance, trivia about roses, painting competition and much more of these exciting events! 

P. S: Like last year, this year too there would be a chopper ride for the tourists at just INR 2400 per person for 10 minutes!!! Isn't that Jaw-droppingly fantastical???  

Sway to the Tunes of Musical Prodigies and Enjoy the Cultural Events!!

A celebration isn't one without some music and Rose Fest promises to zest up your life for these 3 days by stellar musical performances by musical geniuses and beautifully curated cultural events from morning to evening. Each day, super amazing singers and artists would enthrall the ambiance with their most loved tracks and make the crowd go bananas! 

***23rd February would begin with an evening of “Old is Gold” followed by an amazing performance by Punjabi sensation Kulwinder Billa who would set the stage on fire with his peppy numbers and would force all of you to get up and dance! 

***On the second day, 24th February, the morning would be graced by “Morning Raga” by Pandit Subhash Ghosh and the evening would be graced by heartthrob of Punjab di kudiyaan, Gippy Grewal that would surely leave all of you astounded with the foot-tapping music and melodious tunes. 

***And to end the visual and musical treat, on 25th February, a cultural musical evening with Punjabi folk singers and Bollywood singer Ankit Tiwari would rock the galiyaan of Rose Garden with his hit songs like teri galiyaan, sun raha hai na and many more heart-wrenching tunes.!

Apart from all this, get ready to taste traditional delicious bites at the various food stalls set up in the Festival. You can also purchase souvenirs at the fest to keep as a memorabilia of this stellar of an event!
