The Creative minds behind Tricity’s Theatrical Experience restaurant, Gourmet Nine met online and fell for each other. Both Shiwani Tomar and Aditya Prabhu discovered that they both are epicureans who enjoy good food. Together they decided to share this common love for food with the rest of the world in the form of their Food Theatre-Gourmet Nine. With over 27 years of experience with 5-star Kitchens at Taj Hotels, Ramada, and Mainland China, Aditya decided to call it quits and start his own venture. Having learned that his love is also a hardcore gourmand did the trick for him. With a common passion to cook and serve gourmet food, they both worked and created a haven for foodies who love drama on a platter. The name of their maiden venture Gourmet Nine is inspired by nine different types of cuisine from Bengal, Rajasthan, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Pan Asian. As per Aditya, “If you love cooking, then you must know how to play with spices. If you learn to play with spices, you surely would win over people with your food.” At Gourmet Nine, they both together have tried to create a dramatic experience for people who would love to experiment with food. Shiwani with her artistic flair has designed the interiors and Aditya has curated a special menu to appease the patrons who frequent the restaurant. Together, they try and interact with their guests and convince them to try something other than just butter chicken or dal makhani. “For both of us, food is not just something that satiates your hunger but something that is an experience and that is what we both love to deliver. Our common love is what we serve to our guests and that is what keeps us going”, says Aditya. Priya was working as a banker and Abhay was an MBA grad working in Jaipur and Hyderabad.
