Kargil, the word itself brings back memories of the 1999 war between India and Pakistan. The 26th July 2017 marks the eighteenth Kargil Diwas of our country and to pay our tributes to those who fought and laid down their lives a Victory Run event has been organized on 5th August 2017.  It will be seeing widespread participation from citizens all across the state. In a bid to come out and show the soldiers the respect they rightfully deserve, this event commemorates all that the army stood for and the ideals it will continue to uphold.

A step taken in enduring that awareness is spread about the painstaking efforts the army makes to ensure that both you and me enjoy a good night's sleep, the Kargil Diwas marks the triumph of the armed forces of our nation, when they successfully were able to pull off 'Operation Vijay' against Pakistan on 1999.

The marathon that is going to be held, which will be 5km and 18km respectively, basically is a measure that is taken by the government so as to honor the legacy of the war heroes who went on to live or die regardless of their staggering bravery. A victory run that will be organized to pay tribute to the legends our country has come to rever, come let us celebrate their martyrdom and pay homage to the lives that were lost, and the lives that we are willing to sacrifice in service of this beautiful nation.
